1. Replace old water heaters. The average life expectancy of a water heater is 10 to 12 years. Don’t wait for them to fail, replace your water tank every 10 years.
2. Switch water supply lines to stainless steel braided hoses. There are braided hoses for almost every water connection in your home, from washing machines to toilet and sink supply lines to ice maker lines.
4. Check condensation lines on your furnace and air conditioner units. These lines can become clogged, allowing water to pool on your floors. This is especially true if these units are located in an attic or on a second floor.
