Summer is a time for fun at swimming pools, at the beach or at the lake. These aren’t the only places that children play around water. And water can be dangerous for kids if parents don’t take the proper precautions and provide constant supervision.
Nearly 1000 children die each year by drowning. Some of the less obvious places of danger are wading pools, ornamental fish ponds, a hot tub, a toilet, or even the bathtub. Young children can drown in as little as 2 inches of water. And don’t forget ditch lines, a sink, a bucket, and ornamental fountains.
